The electric pressure cooker has been all the rage in the last few years. A quick search on Facebook for electric pressure cooker groups will yield a ton of results- I counted to 37 before I got tired of scrolling. The most infamous, of course, is the Instant Pot brand. They were one of the first to the market and really launched the craze. But, first to market might not always be the best. Read more in this blog post!
Let’s learn about the Pampered Chef’s answer to the electric pressure cooker- the Quick Cooker!
Not Just an Electric Pressure Cooker
If you noticed during the video, the Pampered Chef Quick Cooker isn’t just an electric pressure cooker!
You’ve got 4 cooking methods in the same pot- sear, steam, slow cook and you can even proof your bread. What does that all mean?
Fewer dishes. And we like that.
Why Is Everyone Losing Their Minds Over Electric Pressure Cookers?
2 words. Ease & convenience.
There is no standing over a stove and tending your meal. Shorter cooking times mean that you will save energy as well as time! You’ll also retain more nutrients in your food because of the shorter cooking time. If you’re going to eat broccoli, you want it to count, right?
Pressure cooking is also one of the best and easiest ways to cook huge hunks of meat quickly while ensuring a tender meal. I always thought I was inept at making a decent pot roast. Turns out I just needed the right tools. I made a pot roast the other night in this bad boy- 1 hour and it was fall apart tender.
And don’t forget that there’s very few dishes. The inner pot can even go in the dishwasher.
How To Use The Quick Cooker
It looks way scarier than it is. I promise! The preset functions take the guess work out of recipe pressures. It even comes with a recipe book with times and pressures for random cuts of meat from your freezer.
The body at top stay cool to the touch. This means no accidental burns to little curious hands. The steam release is arguably the most terrifying part of the electric pressure cooker experience. The release button is a safe distance from the valve. Also, the valve is flat, which reduces the spitting and sputtering that can happen with the “other guy’s”.
Use your ceramic pot to make sides while your meat is cooking. It stacks right on top of your main dish. Also, you can use the smallest stainless steel mesh colander to steam potatoes or make hard boiled eggs.
